The Reveal Series, I consider a "breakthrough" in my painting. As a figurative/realist painter, this work represents an almost opposite or dialectic approach to my previous work. There is a presence demanded in this work that is absolutely necessary. With few exceptions, each piece was started with no preconception as to color or shape or form. The process is true to the moment of creation.
The top layer of color as well as the marks or 'strokes' unveiling the under color are in response and reaction to the particular resulting color ‘vibration’ which appears, and the obvious 'feeling' that was evoked.
